Warragul Bowling Club held its men's and women's pairs finals on Sunday in ideal weather conditions.
The men's final saw Gary Ingley and Terry Sullivan playing Brian Kennedy and Bruce Thompson, while the women's final saw Gaye Renn and Lyn Morrison against Marg Ratcliffe and Bianca Sheehan.
Gary and Terry got off to a great start and were 6/0 after four ends. Brian and Bruce hit back with two and three to trail by one shot.
Gary and Terry got four and two to race to a seven shot lead, then Brian and Bruce won the next three ends, but could only get singles.
Gary and Terry closed the match out with one, one and three to win 17/8.
Gaye and Lyn got off to an even better start with two, two, two and five to lead 11/0. Marg and Bianca got one, then Gaye and Lyn got four singles to establish a huge 15/1 lead.
To their credit Marg and Bianca got five, two and two to narrow the gap to five shots, and putting themselves back in the game.
But with four and one on the next two ends Gaye and Lyn claimed the championship with a score of 20/10.
