The Bunyip Tennis Club held their inaugural Ace Classic Tennis Tournament over the Australia Day weekend to great success.
Mixing semi professionals and local enthusiasts together, the event was eventually won by Victorian and ITF player Joshua Charlton.
Charlton defeated runner-up Daniel Storman in the final 6-3 7-6(2), claiming a $1500 prize along the way.
Tournament organiser Chris Millidonis said the tournament had gone "really, really well."
"We had a great weekend, it was awesome. We didn't have too many matches run long so it was quite easy to run in the end," he said.
"There was some really good feedback from the players and the spectators, we've already had some discussions about next year. I think everyone's really keen to grow this."
Millidonis was especially full of praise for Charlton, saying he had been exemplary in the way he conducted himself.
"He really got around it, he got around to all the kids and made sure they all left with a smile. He was awesome."
Fellow semi professional Corey Gaal made it to the semi finals of the tournament, but had to withdraw after a late call-up to an ITF tournament in Burnie, Tasmania.
