The Warragul Blues Junior Football Club proudly unfurled two new flags on Friday night, celebrating last season's premiership successes of their under 12s and under 14s girls' teams.
This momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in the club's history and highlights the exceptional talent and dedication of its young players and coaching staff.
Since the 2021 inaugural year of girls' football in the West Gippsland Junior Football Competition, the Warragul Blues have seen a dramatic rise in player participation.
The number of girls joining the club has been diverse in both experience and skill, which is a testament to the club's commitment to providing opportunities to develop their skills, build confidence, and experience the joys of team sport.
Adding to the club's accolades, seven players from the under 14s and five from the under 12s have been selected for the West Gippsland Interleague teams.
This achievement highlights the individual talents within the club and provides these girls with the opportunity to compete at a higher level, further developing their skills and gaining invaluable experience.
Club officials said as they look to the future, the continued growth and success of girls' football seems bright. The Warragul Blues Junior Football Club have set a strong foundation.
