Strong full-court pressure from Nyora resulted in an early break. Tight play and defensive turnovers for both teams saw the quarter end with Nyora leading by just one goal.
Trafalgar came back at the start of the second quarter, taking the lead with some strong offensive plays and accurate shooting. Nyora responded with timely midcourt intercepts, allowing their team to pull back the margin. At half-time, Trafalgar led by one goal.
Nyora goal defence Juliet Stacey and goal keeper Sophie Daley both stepped up with intercepts, which their goalers took advantage of. Trafalgar steadied and a tight quarter followed, with both teams displaying great skills and determination.
Late quarter turnovers resulted in Trafalgar leading by three at the final change.
Excitement and pressure built during the fourth quarter with Nyora equalling due to a number of lovely intercepts by wing defence Zahli Dixon.
It was goal-for-goal and, in a very exciting finish, Trafalgar won by one goal with a shot after the siren.
