Warragul's Charlie Stern blazed a new trail at the World Triathlon Multisport World Championships in Townsville recently.
Competing in the long distance section in a 147km course, Charlie finished second in his 20-24 age group, officially making him one of the world's best.
He also finished 12th overall for all age groups.
He was well supported by a host of other locals competing, as Wild Dog Triathlon Club members Damien Smith, Paul Taylor and Lachlan Skinner.
