There were several outstanding achievements from local Wellington athletes at the Victorian Milers Club held at Lakeside Stadium last month.
The 3000m events showcased remarkable performances and massive personal bests from the Gippslanders across the board.
Rhylee Stewart (16 years, Drouin) took out the men's open 3000m heat in 9:00.56 (first), while Zali Metcalfe (19 years, also from Drouin) achieved a remarkable 20-second personal best in the female open 3000m B heat, clocking in at 10:03.40 (third) and securing a national qualifying time.
Charlie Strachan (Callignee), one of Wellington Athletic Club's younger athletes (12 years), competed in the L heat, placing third overall with a personal best of 10:29.73.

Female open 3000m: Ada Hill - D heat: 10:46.46 PB (13th).
Male open 3000m: Henri Bott - J heat: 10:08.40 PB (18th), Sidney Box - J heat: 10:09.93 PB (19th).
Athletes are under the coaching of Dennis and Craig Huffer of the Gippsland Track Club.
