AFLW stars to visit locally

AFL Gippsland has announced that three AFLW teams – Hawthorn, Collingwood, and Melbourne – will be bringing their energy and excitement to the region for community camps in May and June.
This opportunity will see elite female footballers connect with local communities, inspire young players, and promote the growth of girls and women's football in Gippsland.
Hawthorn will kick off the AFLW invasion, visiting East Gippsland on May 15 and 16.
The Hawks will be engaging with local schools and football clubs in addition to hosting a special community welcome event. Young aspiring footballers will have the chance to hone their skills with special visits to local football clubs by the talented Hawthorn players.
The visit to Bairnsdale and surrounds will support the newly established East Gippsland Under 15s Girls Academy.
Following on from Hawthorn, Melbourne will be visiting South Gippsland on May 19 and 20.
Demons players will be connecting with students through school visits, supporting local football clubs, and providing invaluable coaching and guidance with their football. A community welcome event will also provide a great opportunity for fans to meet their heroes.
Rounding out the community camp schedule, Collingwood will head to West Gippsland on June 6.
The Magpies will be immersing themselves in the local football landscape, following in their footsteps of the Collingwood AFL team who visited the area in February.
"This is an incredible opportunity for the Gippsland community to connect with the stars of the AFLW," said Tim Cotter, AFL Gippsland Region Manager.
"To have Hawthorn, Collingwood, and Melbourne choose our region for their community camps highlights the passion and growth of football in Gippsland. We encourage everyone to get involved in the various activities planned and make the most of this unique experience."
Further details regarding specific event times and locations will be released in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on the AFL Gippsland website and social media channels for updates.
