A vehicle was impounded by police after allegedly reaching speeds of 164km/h on the Princes Fwy near Drouin West.
Police said the grey Audi RS3 sedan was detected by state highway patrol officers on Thursday at 12.45pm.
It is alleged the vehicle was travelling more than 50km/h above the speed limit between Wiltshire Rd and Princes Way.
Police said the vehicle was impounded and the driver, a 29-year-old man from Epping, automatically lost his licence.
