This Saturday night at Nyora Raceway a sold out crowd will enjoy a huge night of motoring and motorsport action that will entertain a packed house.
Amongst the action will be the Monster Trucks Australia show which not only includes monster trucks, as they will entertain with a stunt jeep, a tank, a death ball and stunt buggies.
There will be fireworks on and off the track, with a fireworks display as part of the nights event, there is a pit party at midday to allow spectators to get up close to performers from the monster truck show and race drivers.
In addition there will be racing will that complement the monster truck show with Formula 500s senior and juniors, unlimited sedans and dirt modifieds all competing.
The Formula 500s compete in association Stampede Series rounds, and the dirt modifieds competing for the 'Monster Tonne.'
Formula 500 entrants include current Victorian champion Dale Sinclair as well as drivers familiar to Nyora like former multiple Mini Sprint winner Owen Milton, Maddox Gibbs and Steve Jabke. These pocket rockets will fly around Nyora in lap times just under 14 seconds a lap depending on weather and track conditions or in the mid 14s.
The junior Formula 500s will be circulating in similar lap times with a number of competitors with experience at Nyora as dart and sedan race drivers. They include Matilda and Cruz Farrell from Pakenham upper, Cody Malley, and Rowdy Andreatta. They will have their work cut out for them in a very good field of Victoria's best junior racers.
In dirt modified competition for the Monster Tonne 1000 has a $1000 to win being paid as a result of a sponsors group contributing.
Michael Ardley, Daryl Hickson, Marcus and Matt Reddecliffe and Shane Ardley - all Nyora aligned racers - will have to compete with Zeke Edwards and Jack Smith as they're all keen to leave Gippsland with the grand in their hand.
These eight-cylinder machines could get around in 14.5 seconds at their fastest at Nyora.
Finally in the mostly eight cylinder powered unlimited sedans, Clyde-based racer Warrick Taylor returns to the wheel fresh off a victory in Horsham last weekend.
Anthony McKean, who also podiumed in Horsham, will be in the line-up also, as will Pakenham man and Nyora member Travis Ramsdale who is very keen to win this one and get a victory over Taylor if he can.
Troy Hutchinson from Traralgon and one of Victoria's best, Sean Lister from Geelong, are also in the field. Lister has had success at Nyora and is keen to have his first meeting of the season. Lap times could be in the mid f15s at their absolute fastest.
There are no tickets at the gate for this event. The event is sold out. Spectator gates for those that have their tickets are open from 11am, on track competition starts 4pm
