Men's shed upgrade

Warragul Men's Shed was recently awarded a State Government grant for upgrades to its premises.
The grant was applied for on behalf of the Men's Shed by Baw Baw Shire Council and $17,882.58 was allocated to the council owned premises in Normanby St. Council also is contributing $5690 to the project.
The scope of the works includes installation of new roof insulation, installation of two new split system air conditioning/heating units, a workshop air filtration system for sawdust extraction, LED lighting and an upgraded switchboard as well as some minor guttering and plumbing works.
Warragul Men's Shed president Trevor Forrest said the upgrades were very much welcomed.
"As quite an old building, it can get very hot in summer and cold in winter down here. The improved insulation and split system in particular will allow us to work more comfortably throughout the whole year to deliver some of the projects we do for the community."
Communities across Victoria were set to benefit from the grants awarded to the local men's sheds. Minister for Carers and Volunteers Ros Spence announced that 29 men's sheds across Victoria were to share in more than $850,000 as part of the program.
"Men's sheds are essential community spaces where men can forge friendships, share experiences and support each other in a safe and welcoming environment, as well as working on meaningful projects."
"These grants will make an incredible difference to communities across Victoria, providing men with the spaces and opportunities they need to develop new skills, enhance their wellbeing and strengthen social connection."
