The cricket match between Gippsland Goannas over 60 team and the Yarra Valley veterans did not go ahead at the weekend, as Yarra Valley could not bring a team to Gippsland again.
The over 50s scored a solid win over Sunbury, making 4/207 off their 40 overs before dismissing Sunbury for 171.
The Goannas had one representative at the over 60 national championships which were held in Brisbane last week.
Rob Taylor was selected in the division three team, and made 12 not out in a win in the first game. Unfortunately he injured his knee and was unable to participate in the other three matches.
Ian Gibson and Ian Southall, in the Vic Blue team in division one, and Gordon Cowling, in the Vic Blue team in division two, have travelled to Dubbo this week to participate in the national over 70 championships.
The first game will be on Thursday, with further games on Friday, Monday and Tuesday.
The next game for the Goannas over 60 team will be on Sunday November 24 against the South Gippsland Kookaburras at the Nambrok Rec Reserve, while the over 50s are due to play an away game at East Ringwood on the same day.
The next over 70 game will be a home game against the Endeavour Hills/Bayside team on Tuesday December 3.
