Remembrance Day services will be held throughout Baw Baw Shire next Monday to honour members of the armed services that have died in wars and to acknowledge the courage and sacrifice of all that have served.

The day has been marked with commemorations at 11am on November 11 since 1918, the time and date when fighting in World War 1 ended to clear the way for negotiations of a peace settlement.
The services will be held at seven towns across the shire and people also can pay their respects at cenotaphs at a number of other locations.
During the week there will be stalls within the shopping areas of towns selling items for the Returned Services League annual "Poppy Day" appeal.
Next Monday's services that will start from 15 to 30 minutes before 11am will be at memorials at:-
Drouin: Memorial Park, Princes Way.
Longwarry: Memorial Park, Koo wee rup-Longwarry Rd.
Neerim South: cenotaph at junction of Main Neerim and Neerim East Rds.
Thorpdale: cenotaph at Mirboo North-Trafalgar Rd.
Trafalgar: cenotaph at 55 Kitchener St.
Warragul: cenotaph at the junction of Victoria and Smith Sts.
Darnum: cenotaph, 4 Cropley St.
People also can pay their respects at cenotaphs at Aberfeldie, Erica, Hill End, Jindivick, Narracan East, Neerim, Neerim East, Neerim North, Noojee, Walhalla, Willow Grove and Yarragon.
In Warragul, Victoria and Smith Sts will be closed to vehicle traffic between 9.30 and 11.30am.
At Neerim South there will be a short traffic hold of about 15 minutes from 10.50am on roads approaching the cenotaph and the town's bus stop will be temporarily relocated to outside Algie Hall.
