Motor vehicles and a horse and cart can be seen in the street in front of numerous businesses.
They include Spencer's Hotel - now known as The Drouin Family Hotel. Horrie Spencer owned the hotel before selling to the Gleeson family in the 1920s.
The "Back to Drouin" carnival ran from Friday, April 26 to Monday, April 29 in 1929, culminating in a "Grand Farewell Ball" in the Drouin Mechanics' Institute.
The festivities began - according to the brochure - with the arrival of the Back to Drouin special train, which left from Melbourne and arrived at 11.45am.
A monster reception at the railway station featured a short welcome address and a song of welcome by the school children.
An afternoon at the racecourse, reunion picnic at the recreation reserve, "Grand Old-Time Ball" in the mechanics' institute, back-to-school day, mock court in Main St, gala sports event at the recreation reserve, picture program at the mechanics' institute, "Grand Gala Night Concert", special church service, Anzac memorial service, community singing concert, motor trips and afternoon sports were also held across the four-day carnival.
"The Sun News" in Melbourne reported more than 800 invitations were sent out for the event, with more than 500 visitors accepting.
