The contribution and services of first responders was recently celebrated at Nilma Primary School.
The students showed appreciation during visits from representatives of the local SES, Warragul Police and Nilma North CFA.
It was part of national appreciation day "Thank a First Responder", providing an opportunity to acknowledge first responders and their families.
Together the students developed a list of questions to ask and shared a piece of writing as a "thank you" present. It was a simple, yet marked, way of showing their appreciation and recognition of contributions made within the local community.
The school also extended its appreciation to local paramedics who were unable to attend and parents and school community members who are also first responders.
