Wool Week celebrated
1 min read

Late last month Fairview Village's Wool Group celebrated Wool Week with a morning tea and guest speaker Sally Jones, a member of the Fairview board.
The celebration of Wool Week takes place annually, and the Wool Group has been running for more than 20 years.
Ms Jones talked about how Fairview's knitting is still being distributed around Australia and the world, and in recent times trauma teddies made at Fairview have gone to the Red Cross and to children affected by the floods in Lismore. A portion of the knitting has also gone to Ukraine.
Members of the Wool Group knit all kinds of items, including toys, teddies, blankets, beanies, and baby clothes. For Wool Week many of these items were put on display at Fairview for people to purchase in support of the group.
Resident of Fairview Village Jean Morton has been a part of the group for many years is still passionate about it.
"I love the wool group and knitting, it is a way to make time so meaningful," she said.
