Strong wind saw trees knocked down throughout Drouin last Monday night as a storm front swept through the region.
Hitting the area between 6pm and 6:30pm, the strong wind caused a number of road closures due to fallen trees.
Warragul SES responded to 19 requests for assistance, which included fallen trees and three reports of building damage.
"The majority of these requests were from Drouin, which bore the brunt of some damaging winds when a storm front came through around 6pm," Warragul SES unit controller Paul Tandberg said.
The Baw Baw Shire Council customer service team received about 25 calls related to the storm and fallen trees from Monday night.
Council reported the damage appeared to be highly localised with upper canopy failures and some entire trees falling, largely eucalyptus and Acacia trees.
Council said no power lines were affected as far as they were aware.
In Drouin, Princes Way, Settlement Rd, Armstrong Ave, Wood St and Bennett St appeared to be the most impacted areas due to highly localised, extreme winds.
Armstrong Ave and Settlement Rd were both closed until the fallen trees could be cleared. Old Drouin Rd also was also temporarily closed due to multiple trees down, where police assisted until council's road crews arrived. Lardner's Track also saw a large tree come down blocking the roadway.
In Yarragon, a tree branch covered part of Old Yarragon-Leongatha Rd, and a similar incident occurred at the intersection of Yarragon South Rd and Yarragon-Leongatha Rd.
Council reminded residents not to clear roads themselves, but wherever possible, wait for the crews responsible for clearing the roads to arrive. Jobs are prioritised based on the level of hazard and risk.
