VCAT rules airfield has no existing rights

An application seeking to establish an airfield on a Drouin South property, based on its existing use rights, has been denied by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
VCAT member Judith Perlstein determined the airfield was "unlawful" and therefore no existing use rights had been established.
The private airstrip, owned by Terry and Christine Williamson has been controversial for many years and a planning application to expand use of the property to an airfield was refused by Baw Baw Shire Council in July last year.
