Use your environmental voice

Are you passionate about protecting and enhancing the local environment? Do you want to ensure a sustainable future for all?
If the answer to either question is yes, Baw Baw Shire wants to hear from you.
Council has opened expressions of interest for two vacant positions on its Environment Voice advisory committee (EVAC).
Baw Baw Shire mayor Annemarie McCabe said joining the committee was an opportunity chance to inform council decision making and have a positive impact on the local environment.
"The EVAC provides advice and recommendations to council for consideration in the areas of environmental policy, strategy and planning, while also focussing on new and emerging issues where council has a chance to play a key role," Cr McCabe said.
The committee recently assisted in the development of council's eight-year environmental sustainability strategy.
The committee meet on the fourth Tuesday in February, May, August and November from 6pm to 8pm at Drouin Civic Centre.
Cr McCabe said expressions of interest closed on Friday, December 15. To find out more, visit bawbawconnect.com.au/environmentalvoice or email greg.hollis@bawbawshire.vic.gov.au
