A Bunyip footballer killed in a motorcycle accident on December 30 was farewelled at a funeral on Friday.
Family, friends and acquaintances gathered at the Pakenham Racing Club to remember the life of 18-year-old Ashley 'Ash' O'Haire.
Prominent among those in attendance were members of the Bunyip Football Club, whom O'Haire played for. The club also hosted refreshments following the service.
O'Haire was riding a motorcycle in Licola when he crashed and sustaining life threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he later died.
Many online tributes remembered him for his kindness.
O'Haire was a keen footballer, playing for the Bunyip Football Club's under 18s side last season.
Club president Cass Hackett said everyone was "devastated" by the loss of O'Haire.
"Ash was a member of our under 18s team and was a much loved member of our club by his teammates and coaches.
"Everyone at the club is sending love to his family and friends at such a difficult time," she said.
