Traffic congestion in Warragul and Drouin's central town areas is destined to get much worse before there is eventually some relief.

With the population of Baw Baw Shire forecast in some studies to potentially double by 2040 pleas by council and local organisations over a number of years have failed to convince the state government of the need for a start to developing long term solutions.
Planning an expanded Drouin and Warragul arterial road network is a major council advocacy priority to state government but has not attracted funding for Regional Roads Victoria to undertake a study, estimated to cost about $3 million, to address the issues.
