A disability services program that has been supplying custom bikes to local residents in need has been nominated for the 2022 Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation Awards.
Known as Freedom Wheels, the program is run by Solve-TAD, not-for-profit disability support service, and is designed to allow people with disabilities to access bikes fully customised to their needs.
After initially being founded as a metro-based program in 2004, over the past two years it has expanded to regional areas around Victoria, including Warragul and Traralgon. The custom bikes assist riders with their mobility, keeping physically fit and also giving them a social outlet.
