The Trafalgar Lions Club's swap meet made a successful return last month after a four-year absence.
Some 140 exhibitors and more than 1000 people turned out for the event that was washed out last year after being cancelled for the previous three years due to COVID-19.
It was a different story this year with exhibitors and the large crowd at the Trafalgar Recreation Reserve enjoying a beautiful autumn day.
The day was a fitting reward for the 12 months planning by the Lions club that led into the swap meet headed by Ian Bosma and his project team.
The 20 Trafalgar Lions members that volunteered their time on the day to ensure the success of what is one of the club's major fundraisers received much appreciated help from volunteers from Trafalgar cricket club, Trafalgar scouts and Yarragon Lions and support with use of the oval, facilities and planning by the Trafalgar cricket and football clubs.
Trafalgar Lions president Trevor Byrne said the day was an excellent example of community groups coming together to raise funds and said planning would start soon for next year's event.
While many people sought out the bargains on offer the Lions club received plenty of positive comments from people about the recycling opportunities the event provided.
