Two men were seen behind businesses in Campbell St at 3.38am on Sunday. A resident told police the duo attempted to open the back door of one shop and saw them standing near the door of another.
From the description - one wearing a flouro top and another a brown hoodie - police officers intercepted two men in their 40s from St Albans and Seymour in Campbell St. No stolen items were found.
It followed a similar incident when police were called to a Princes Fwy construction site in the early hours of Monday, February 3.
A resident reported two men loitering before entering the site near Yarragon Railway Station at 2.08am. The duo was observed walking out when police officers arrived at 2.22am.
Police intercepted one man, a Thorpdale resident in his 30s, at a white Hyundai van.
"It's good that people let us know when they see these things," Warragul police senior sergeant Peter Watson said. "It's possibly stopped a burglary or theft."
