A renewable power back-up for a mobile telecommunications tower at Neerim North is said to have been "temporarily offline" when storms lashed the areas earlier this month.
The office of Minister for Energy and Resources Lily D'Ambrosio said the Hydrogen Fuel Cell generator had been offline since mid-August for maintenance that was not related to the wind event that impacted mobile telephone coverage throughout the district.
A spokesperson said a diesel generator was promptly deployed to maintain services.
