A group of Drouin Rotarians armed with paint brushes, hammers and nails have spruced up the shelter in Drouin's Civic Park.
They gave the building, popular for barbecues, picnics and users of the adjacent skate park a fresh coat of paint and repaired the seating.
The club also uses the shelter as its base for the Drouin Produce and Craft Market it runs monthly.
Service projects coordinator Bill Petschack said the building was in need of a facelift with some of the seat boards damaged or showing signs of age and the painted surfaces needing some work.
Baw Baw Shire council chipped in by providing the paint.
While the nine Rotarians were on the job some passers-by suggested other tired facilities around the town that could do with some attention.
We'll talk to council officers and see what we can do, Mr Petschack said.
