Priority roads identified

Three roads have been identified as top priorities to seek external government funding to enable desperately needed repair and reconstruction works, estimated to cost $14 million in total.
The three roads - Darnum Shady Creek Rd, Darnum; Thurlows Rd, Shady Creek; and Hazeldean Rd, Cloverlea - will be reconstructed pending Baw Baw Shire Council receiving additional funding support.
Cr Peter Kostos called for the report in May.
Presenting the report recently, officers said council was responsible for 1798 kilometres of sealed and unsealed roads, of which the three roads identified in the report represented only 34.4 kilometres (4.2 per cent of council's road network).


Cr Kostos said the three roads were in a "bad state."
