Police seize vapes and illegal cigarettes

More than $50,000 worth of goods, including vapes and illegal cigarettes, were seized from a Warragul business last week.
Police executed a drugs warrant at Mason St business last Wednesday after receiving reports of underaged customers being sold vapes.
Local police arrived at the premises about 10am Wednesday morning and remained there until noon. Uniform members removed several boxes of various sizes from the building.
Police estimate the street value of the confiscated goods to be between $50,000 and $60,000, including about 5000 vapes containing nicotine and 10,000 illegal cigarettes.
The illegal cigarettes included allegedly illegally imported packaged and unpackaged tobacco products.
Police confirmed the business had been under investigation for about three months and was the subject of a number reports to CrimeStoppers.From October 1, 2021, all nicotine vaping products, such as nicotine e-cigarettes, nicotine pods and liquid nicotine have been classified as Schedule 4 (prescription only) medicines.
Investigations are continuing but police said offenders could face schedule-four illicit drug charges and illegal imports charges.
