Panel kicks off updated plan for Cardinia Shire

Development of Cardinia Shire council's plan for the next four years was underway at the first meetings of a panel including community members.
The panel, whose representation includes people from towns, differing age groups and cultural backgrounds, held online discussions and a full day workshop following its formation in January.
Mayor Jack Kowarzik said the panel also was reviewing the shire's 2040 vision.
He said the plan and associated documents would guide council's activities and decision making for the next four years with the inputs and feedback from community members helping achieve a well-rounded plan as the shire grows.
Cr Kowarzik praised the contributions of panel members, their energy and contributions displayed during the workshops.
In addition to putting forward community priorities for the 2025-2029 period they would have inputs into important strategic documents on liveability, asset and financial plans, the mayor stated.
Draft priorities will be open for consideration and comment by the shire's community during April and May.
