No meals for councillors

The new Baw Baw Shire councillor group has requested no meals be provided before council meetings.
The request was noted after Dean Hurlston lodged a community question to ask the cost of providing meals, refreshments and beverages for councillors and staff at council meetings.
Baw Baw Shire interim chief executive officer Cohen Van der Velde said the approximate cost per public council meeting in 2024 was $95. This was for a small plate of sandwiches offered to councillors only.
Mr Van der Velde noted councillors had requested no meals in 2025.
