Increases to Baw Baw Shire's fees and charges will need to be considered after the state government capped council rate rises at 2.75 per cent.
Council's capital works and service priorities will also be put under the microscope following the cap announcement for next financial year.
The announcement, which came just three days before Christmas, is a reduction from the 3.5 per cent cap that applies for the current financial year.
