A Taco Bill restaurant is to be established in premises at 59 Victoria St formerly occupied by Chinese restaurant Canton City.
Candappa First National’s Shane Candappa, who handled the long-term leasing of the premises, said he understood the aim was to have the restaurant open its doors in about three months.
He said the period until opening would be taken up with internal fit-out and obtaining several approvals including a liquor licence.
The first Taco Bill restaurant was opened on the Gold Coast about 50 years ago before expanding to firstly to Sydney then Melbourne.
It now has 30 locations across Victoria and New South Wales with the nearest to Warragul currently at Pakenham and Beaconsfield.
