A new mayor and deputy mayor for the next 12 months have been elected for Cardinia Shire council.
Officer ward councillor Tammy Radford has taken over the mayor';s chair and Pakenham Hills ward councillor Jack Kowarzik is the deputy mayor.
Cr Radford succeeds Cr Jeff Springfield who completed two terms in the position.
Cr Radford thanked councillors for entrusting her to the position and her family for the support they give her.
She said she would not take the privilege of being mayor lightly and would give full consideration and respect to the diverse interests of the Cardinia Shire community.
Cr Springfield said he felt very fortunate to have been trusted to serve a second term as mayor and praised the efforts of fellow councillors, council staff and community committees that had contributed over the past year.
