New home after a "dream come true"

For the past 20 years, lack of disability housing in West Gippsland forced Keone Prout to live in Melbourne. Now he can come home.

A purpose built home, the first of its kind in Baw Baw Shire, was opened by specialist disability accommodation provider Good Housing last week, marking a crucial step forward in supporting the specific needs of people with disability in West Gippsland.
The development, undertaken with Scope, provides residents with disability a setting that fosters independence, comfort, and security.
But for residents like Keone, his mum Jennie Prout said the house was more than a facility, it was a "dream come true."
