New fountains installed
1 min read

New drinking fountains have been installed in Warragul and Trafalgar by Gippsland Water and Baw Baw Shire.
Gippsland Water partners with Baw Baw Shire to install new fountains in the area each year. This year new fountains have popped up at the West Gippsland Arts Centre and Trafalgar's Turra Pavilion.

Gippsland Water managing director Sarah Cumming said new drinking fountains outside the WGAC in Warragul and the Trafalgar pavilion would keep visitors, sports players and patrons hydrated.
"Our customers have told us they want to see increased access to free, fresh drinking water at busy locations across our service area, so we're working closely with council to deliver that outcome," Ms Cumming said.
"Tap water is a cheap and healthy option that doesn't involve single-use plastic, making it better for both you and the environment."
Shire deputy mayor Cr Michael Leaney said the new fountains supported the council's Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.
"With the summer now in full swing and people spending more time outdoors getting active, we want to make sure our everyone has abundant access to free, fresh drinking water," he said.
"We strongly advocate for health initiatives that support the betterment of the community and Gippsland Water's drinking fountain program is directly aligned with this vision."
Locals are invited to share their ideas on where new fountains should be installed. To suggest a new fountain location, or to find out more about Gippsland Water's drinking fountain program visit www.gippswater.com.au/drinking-fountain-locations.
