Narracan candidates: Wayne Farnham
2 min read

Ensuring Narracan is seen and heard in Parliament on the local issues that need to be addressed will be the main focus of Liberal candidate Wayne Farnham if he is elected.
With the ALP already forming government, Mr Farnham said the Narracan community needed a strong voice that would not back down on local issues.
"I'll be working every day locally to meet constituents, hear their issues, and to help resolve them either with my team in Warragul or with my colleagues in parliament," he said.
Mr Farnham said it was crucial for the local community to "have a member that is here for them, on the ground with them, working alongside them."
"Our community needs a strong voice that won't back down on the issues important to our region."
Mr Farnham, a self-employed builder who lives in Warragul said he was passionate about his local community and wanted to make a difference - not just on the delivery of roads and health infrastructure that were desperately needed, but for any individual in Narracan that needed help.
Maintaining focus on construction of a new West Gippsland Hospital tops the list for Mr Farnham's priorities.
"We cannot allow Labor to delay the construction of a new hospital. We need new facilities for patients and staff as soon as possible.
"The Liberals announced our commitment to a new hospital on the greenfield site in early 2017. Labor didn't match it until October 2022.
"We've seen Labor's other hospital commitments like Geelong and Melton delayed for years, we cannot allow that to happen here," he said.
Mr Farnham identified a number of issues and projects that needed to be addressed in a growing community including a "crumbling and inadequate road network," sewerage for Walhalla, flooding in Trafalgar, Yarragon, Longwarry, Bunyip and Garfield and new schools for Warragul and Drouin.
He said the need for new sporting infrastructure was a priority across the whole electorate.
Mr Farnham said he also wanted to see greater and sustained funding for community organisations like Olivia's Place, MindfulAus and BetterMentall.
"I'll also use my voice in the Parliament to tackle these issues and more, like the cost of living which is a major challenge for everyone."
And, if elected, Mr Farnham said his strength was his voice was part of a team.
"That means when we have issues, I also have the support and voice of our shadow ministers who can help hold the government to account. I will be the loudest voice for our community," he said.
