Narracan candidates: Casey Murphy
1 min read

Community consultation to ensure Narracan is well represented is a major priority for Pauline Hanson's One Nation candidate Casey Murphy.
Born in Moe, attending school in Warragul and living in Gippsland her whole life has given Ms Murphy an understanding of local needs.
As a young mother and living through a multitude of lockdowns, politics was previously never on the horizon for Ms Murphy.
But, she said, watching the area be forgotten inspired her to stand. "I decided that enough is enough. I have a voice and I need to use my voice to stand up for our community and the next generations."
Ms Murphy works as a student and volunteer co-ordinator and during a career in radio she had the opportunity to have many frank and open discussions with state and federal members of parliament.
The lack of development for the West Gippsland Hospital, as well as cost of living, roads and infrastructure were identified by Ms Murphy as the major issues for the electorate.
In an ALP state government, Ms Murphy said she would use community consultation to take local issues to the forefront of the government's mind.
"I will work with our elected One Nation member in the Victorian Legislative Council Rikkie-Lee Tyrell and our colleagues on the floor to establish working relationships that will best benefit our electorate.
"I will engage with our community and seek consultation from them especially in the smaller areas of our electorate.
"I have often heard from our community members they are disheartened as it always seems that funding is given to the larger towns and smaller communities are often forgotten by our government," she said.
Ms Murphy said if elected, she would have the ability to negotiate, vote and speak freely to achieve positive outcomes for the community, without the restrains of party politics.
"I have a voice and need to use it to stand up for our community and future generations.
Ms Murphy's first priority for the Narracan electorate is to support the community "first and foremost and be the voice for what we need from our state government as we have been forgotten for far too long."
