B grade: Warragul 53 lost to Traralgon 59
Gulls played a very strong game against the top team, only falling six goals short.
All players contributed to the flow from one end to the other in a great team effort.
Naomi Allardyce - in her 100th game - put in another amazing effort, highlighting her consistency each week.
Her work bringing the ball into the ring with Ashlyn Gallasch and Brooke Cahill, as well as her feeding into Zoe Ryde, was spot on. She also created many turnovers through her defensive pressure down the court.
Tia Jenkins played a killer of a game. Her continuous second and third efforts made a noticeable difference throughout the court.
Mackenzie Minichiello efforts in the ring with Ella Gaul and Kate Emerson, worked to limit Traralgon from continuing to score and gain a big lead.
Although disappointed not to get the win, the Gulls were very happy with how they played. The game highlighted what the girls are capable of.
Awards: Naomi Allardyce, Tia Jenkins and Mackenzie Minichiello.
C grade: Warragul 24 lost to Traralgon 47
A slow start by Gulls proved too much to overcome in this game.
The first half didn't demonstrate the girls' best netball. But, to their credit, they came out firing in the second half.
Some great defensive turnovers saw the girls able to chip away at the scoreline. Unfortunately, it was just too late.
Awards: Lucy Williamson, Steph Paul and Cara Gavin.
17 and under: Warragul 19 lost to Traralgon 62
With a number of players missing and some recovering from the flu, the Gulls played their best all game against the ladder leaders.
Awards: Stella Kittelty, Edie Flanagan and Dominique Potter.
15 and under: Warragul 14 lost to Traralgon 66
The team welcomed two players from the 13 and under team to fill the void left by absent team mates.
The Gulls demonstrated great teamwork throughout the game.
Awards: Olivia Barr for her defensive pressure; Rharni Cooper for consistency in the midcourt; and, Elizabeth Kuol for her accuracy in goals.
Billie Gray was also awarded for stepping up and showing potential for the games ahead.
13 and under: Warragul 2 lost to Traralgon 52
The girls played well but this wasn't reflected on the scoreboard.
Midcourt player Evelyn Blackwood was awarded best on court. Evelyn's determination, speed and defensive pressure was outstanding, as was the positive encouragement she provided on court.
Defenders Billie Gray and Alysa Sheehan also received an award. These two girls are working exceptionally well together, improving week by week.
