Market movers

The Loch Village Summer Market was a hub of movement on Sunday when a group of locals attempted to set two movement based records.
The first record set was the most people to dance along the Great Southern Rail Trail.
In total, 14 people joined in the dancing including the Poowong Twinkle Toe dancers and friends, spectators and a touring cyclist. Strutting their stuff down the rail trail, the group was filled with joy and laughter.
The second record was the most people participating in Tai Chi along the rail trail.
Led by instructor Allana, eight Tai Chi movers took part in the demonstration, creating a symphony of relaxed elegance and movement.
Organiser Sarah Williams said the intention of the event was to promote movement in groups.
"Walking, stretching, exercising, dancing to music, it's always more fun if you can do it with a relaxed group," she said. "No pressure, just fun and laughter. Being with and being encouraged by other like-minded people makes it so much easier."
Sarah said she hoped the "move movement" would continue to grow and eventually cover the 125km length of the rail trail.
Loch Village Summer Market is run by the Strzelecki Lions Club.
Strzelecki Lions Membership spokesman Noel Gregg invited local not-for-profit community groups to join with Lions and use the historic Loch station building platform area during the monthly market days.
"Lions can also do with some extra helpers to help out at fund-raisers such as the monthly markets – helping prepare food, staffing the "entry by donation" areas, setting up and cleaning up," he said. "It's a privilege to work with community for the community benefit"'.
Noel can be contacted on 0447 398 822.
