A man was arrested after a short chase at a Longwarry North construction site on Sunday morning.
Police allege two men forced entry to the Princes Fwy site at about 6am.
They reported a black utility towing a trailer was driven into the yard, where a shipping container was forced open and tools were stolen.
Police said the two men fled when officers arrived at the scene and, after a short chase, a 43-year-old man from Lang Lang was arrested. The second man drove away in the utility.
Following his arrest, the Lang Lang man was charged with burglary and drug offences.
