A full size replica of the Long Tan Cross will be unveiled at Warragul's Vietnam Veterans Day service on Friday.
It will highlight the annual ceremony at the town's cenotaph at the junction of Smith and Victoria Sts starting at 11am.
The original cross was installed on August 18, 1969, by the 6th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment - three years after the largest battle fought by Australian troops at Long Tan in South Vietnam.
It was removed in 1975 following the end of the war and was gifted to Australia in 2017 for permanent display at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra.
A replica cross installed at Long Tan in the 1980s is frequently visited by Australians that served in Vietnam during the conflict.
This year's Vietnam Veterans Day also will mark the 50th anniversary since the last of the Australian troops left South Vietnam.
