Drouin has officially been voted as one of the best towns in Victoria to find a good "parma." And parma lovers don't have just one option, but two in the town.
Three West Gippsland hotels were recognised among the best in Victoria at the recent Australian Hotels Association's state awards for excellence.
Drouin's two hotels - the Family and the Royal - won categories in the awards announced at a function in Melbourne while the Poowong Hotel was among the finalists in two sections.
The Family and The Royal hotels at Drouin were named among 10 winners for the best parmigiana meals served in the state.
The Family Hotel also was named best all abilities venue and for its outstanding achievement in training. It also was short-listed as a finalist for best family dining and best regional gaming venue.
The Poowong Hotel was a finalist in the best casual dining and pub bar categories.
Chief executive officer of AHA Victoria Paddy O'Sullivan said the awards function was an opportunity to express gratitude to dedicated staff for their contributions to the success of the hotel industry and to recognise outstanding hospitality service and delivery.
