A new disinfection system has been installed at Gippsland Water's Warragul South treated water storage basin to improve reliability and safeguard water quality.
Managing director Sarah Cumming said the $400,000 project was apart of a larger program of work to boost resilience across the organisation's service area.
"We're investing $48 million across the Baw Baw Shire to support high-growth areas, increase system capacity and maintain infrastructure," Ms Cumming said.
"Routine upgrades, like this one, play a crucial role in maintaining the effectiveness and reliability of the entire network.
"While there's often more buzz around our bigger projects, like large-scale treatment plant upgrades, smaller projects like this one are also important for ensuring our customers can continue to rely on us for safe and reliable drinking water."
The Warragul South treated water storage basin services customers in Warragul South and the wider Warragul area.
