Local teen arrested

A 17-year-old girl from the Baw Baw police services area was one of seven teens arrested after police followed stolen cars across Melbourne on Wednesday morning, allegedly travelling at speeds of up to 200km/h.

Police said they saw an Audi SQ5 on the Princes Fwy at Officer at about 1.05am. They allege it was stolen, speeding and had a broken window with no registration plates.
The Audi was located a short time later near Parkhill Drv, travelling in convoy with a Toyota Prado which also had been reported stolen.
Police air wing, Operation Trinity units and uniform police officers followed the two vehicles onto the Monash Fwy.
The Toyota was dumped on the freeway near Church St, Richmond where the occupants reportedly got into the Audi. The Audi then fled into Footscray, where it allegedly drove in convoy with a stolen white BMW sedan.
Police allege the offenders abandoned the Audi, before fleeing in the BMW. The vehicle was tracked to Malvern East a short time later.
The BMW was found abandoned on Nangana Rd, Murrumbeena, with the occupants fleeing on foot. Seven people were arrested nearby and interviewed by Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives.
A 17-year-old boy from the Casey area was charged with aggravated home invasion and theft of a motor vehicle.
Four teenagers were charged with theft of a motor vehicle and committing an indictable offence whilst on bail. They included a 13-year-old boy from the Glen Eira area, a 17-year-old boy from the Greater Dandenong area, a 17-year-old from the Stonnington area and an 18-year-old from Mentone.
The girl from the Baw Baw area and a 13-year-old boy from the Casey area were charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
The 18-year-old was remanded to appear before Dandenong Magistrates' Court on Wednesday and the 17-year-old from Casey remanded to appear before a children's court.
The five other teenagers were bailed to appear before a children's court at a later date.
Police allege the Audi was stolen during a home invasion in Berwick on Monday, April 7; the Toyota from Truganina on Wednesday, March 26; and, the BMW from Narre Warren South on Sunday, April 6.
