Cattle rings at the Warragul Show will continue with tradition this weekend in providing a great display of West Gippsland's strength in dairy and beef cattle industries.
New sponsors on board this year have ensured more than $4000 in cash and prizes will be up for grabs for exhibitors.
Cattle will once again be housed and shown in the RDA shed with judging underway at 9.30am on Saturday.
Judges in past years have praised the quality of cattle on show at Warragul. Although sometimes low in numbers, judges praise the quality and commitment of local breeders in putting their best in the cattle rings for show day.
Organisers also are focused on supporting youth exhibitors at the show and have received entries from young stud principals that have entered the show to showcase their stud animals.
A range of breeds are expected to be exhibited including Red Angus, Angus, Charolais, South Devon, Murray Grey, Hereford and Simmental.
This year's line-up also will include Minature Galloways.Local beef breeders are expected to dominate in cattle rings during Saturday's judging.
Breeders also will compete in "all breeds" classes in individual junior, senior and group classes.
The all breeds beef classes will feature junior heifer and bull classes as well as senior female and beef classes.
Junior and senior championships will be awarded as well as a grand champion exhibit, supreme beef exhibit and most successful exhibitor.
Judging of junior classes will begin after the cattle judging including classes for junior beef leader and junior beef cattle judging.
