Youth events and programs have been given a $300,000 boost in Baw Baw Shire.
The funding, to be spread across the next three years, will help deliver youth-friendly initiatives including the Expressions Festival and Baw Baw Live4Life.
Baw Baw Shire strategy and organisational performance acting director Elise Harrison said council was thrilled to be the recipient of $300,000.
It followed council's application for two state government grant programs - FReeZA and Engage!
Announcing the grant recipients, Minister for Youth Natalie Suleyman said "FReeZA and Engage! empower Victoria's young people to shape their communities, find their voices and unlock their potential".
"These grants will ensure that young people have the support and resources they need to thrive and contribute to our state into the future," Ms Suleyman added.
Ms Harrison said council would partner with local providers and younger people to deliver safe, youth-friendly events for people aged 12 to 25, including a return of the successful Expressions Festival held last year. Activities will be planned through consultation with council's youth voices group and in line with council's youth strategy.
The Expressions Festival aims to improve the skills of younger people, develop career pathways and allow younger people to showcase their skills and talents.
The Baw Baw Live4Life program is also partly delivered utilising Engage! funding, Ms Harrison said.
Live4Life is a youth mental health education and suicide prevention model designed specifically for regional communities.
