Penalised for evading police

Two motorists have been penalised after evading police in Warragul.
Police said a 28-year-old Warragul man had his vehicle impounded after failing to stop for police in Warragul on Sunday, February 2.
They allege a vehicle was seen travelling at a fast speed along Normanby St at 2.35am. A police vehicle activated its lights on Brandy Creek Rd, however, they were deactivated when the vehicle failed to stop and continued onto Hastings Sq and Charles St.
It is believed the vehicle then skidded across the road and crossed over a nature strip in Charles St, where the driver gave himself up to police.
He was interviewed for evading police and unlicensed driving.
In a separate incident, a 37-year-old Pakenham man was disqualified from driving after evading police in Sutton St.
Police said they saw a grey Hyundai i30 drop off a passenger at 12.30am on Monday, February 3.
After pulling up behind the vehicle, it allegedly drove off and was captured on a mobile radar travelling at 150km/h in a 60km/h speed zone.
Police attended a Pakenham address where a man made full admissions to driving and speeding.
