Locals Marisah Mock, Zizi Pozzebon and Bianca Zurrer all won spots in the Victorian under 18 hockey team, heading to the Gold Coast for the under 18 Australian Hockey Championships. They finished with a silver medal.
The new $11 million dollar Warragul basketball stadium saw its first official use as it hosted qualifying rounds for Basketball Victoria's 3xCup state championships.

AUGUST
The MGFNL senior football match between Thorpdale and Toora was abandoned after Thorpdale coach Jason Winderlich sustained serious a serious neck injury, requiring him to be airlifted from the ground. Winderlich later began a slow road to recovery.
The Warragul Industrials became the champions of women's football in West Gippsland after winning the Mornington Peninsula Football Netball League division one premiership. They would go on to make a double the next week with a premiership win in the Female Football Gippsland youth girls division one grand final.
Buln Buln young superstar Patrick Ireland booted his 100th goal for the season with a bag of 14 against Nilma Darnum.
A rare example of a head count caused some chaos in the WGFNC after Inverloch-Kongwak were found to have too many players on the ground against Bunyip, seemingly wiping their entire score late in the game and handing the Bulldogs their first win in two years. However, umpire deliberation and consultation of the rules after the game determined the Sea Eagles should not have lost their whole score, giving them the win.
That wasn't the only drama of the day. A round loss to Inverloch-Kongwak in D grade netball seemingly left the Bulldogs short of a finals spot. That was until it was determined an unlisted player took the court for the Sea Eagles, forcing them to forfeit and handing Bunyip the win - and a finals appearance.
Gippsland United's reserves sealed their second consecutive title with two games to spare with a 3-0 win over Malvern.
SEPTEMBER
The Gazette's tipping competition is won by long-time tipster and first time winner Robbie Radford - after tipping against his own team Essendon for the first time ever in the final round.
Warragul local Charlie Stern finished second in his age group at the World Triathlon Multisport World Championships in Townsville.
The West Gippsland Strikers under 14 hockey team won their grand final, handing the club its first new premiership flag since 2018.
Buln Buln went back-to-back in the EDFNL senior football grand final, while Nilma Darnum scored an epic upset win in the A grade netball decider.

OCTOBER
Summer sport season kicked off as cricket, bowls and tennis all returned.
Local footballers Lucas Carter and Alixzander Tauru helped to organise a charity golf day to raise money for mental health charity Mindfull Aus.
Labertouche sisters Kate and Georgia Joyce travelled to Tamworth to compete in the Equestrian Australia Interschool Championships.
Drouin golfer Mark Allen was named Australia's top senior amateur golfer after winning the Australia Senior Amateur in South Australia.
Trafalgar golfers Sue Klemke and Angela Bayley teamed up to take out the Golf Australia Doris Chambers State Final #2.
NOVEMBER
Trafalgar weightlifter Isabel Grylls became a national champion with a win in the Weightlifting Australia Federation Under 15 and Youth Championships.
The latest edition of Mindfull Kilometres took place in Warragul, seeing locals walk more than 3000km collectively.
Trafalgar Golf Club hosted its pro am with 53 professional golfers taking part.
Warragul footballers Alixzander Tauru and Jasper Alger both found success at the AFL National Draft, with Tauru heading to St Kilda with pick 10 and Alger to Richmond with pick 58.

The Warragul Warriors had both their women's and men's teams make the Country Basketball League grand finals. The women, who made it to the decider undefeated, were successful in claiming the championship, while the men were defeated in a heartbreaking three-point loss.
Hockey star Bianca Zurrer continued her sporting journey after earning a spot in the Australian under 21 Jillaroos team for the first time as they prepare for the Junior World Cup qualifiers in New Zealand.
