Police believe the car wasn't stolen and the fire was the result of a mechanical fault.
However, several skid marks at the Old Drouin Rd and Edgar Rd intersection, led them to believe the vehicle was doing burn outs at the time. Nobody was found at the scene.
A 16-year-old girl was cautioned and will be referred to the CFA's fire lighting consequences course after being arrested in Drouin.
Police believe the girl was amongst a group of six to eight youths alleged to have started a fire in the McNeilly Park Playground in Jackson Drv on Saturday at 5.15pm.
The fire, which caused $3000 damage, was lit beneath timber climbing equipment.
Youths are also believed to be responsible for a fire in the public toilets in Palmerston St, Warragul on Wednesday at 5pm.
After smelling smoke, police officers on patrol located the fire in the family change facility bathroom.
It is believed a toilet paper roll in a metal holder had been set on fire. The fire was put out by the police officers and caused no structural damage.
