The fourth edition of Mindfull Kilometres is coming soon and time is running out to sign up.
The event will see participants walk, run and everything in between around the Geoff Watt Memorial Track on Saturday November 9 in an effort to promote mental health awareness and raise money for Mindfull Aus.
Led by organisers Jack Symes and Paul Pratt, anyone can jump in anytime between 7am and 3pm for a distance they choose.
The pair are encouraging everyone to go along, register with mates in a team if they want and get around a good cause.
"Our saying for this year is 'creating conversations one step at a time,'" Paul said.
Mindfull Kilometres will once again run in tandem with a modified Little Athletics program, allowing kids to get involved as well as participate in a chat about mental health and its importance.
The test of endurance began in 2020 when Paul and Jack decided to run 100km for a fundraiser in the throes of COVID lockdowns.
Since then it's expanded to become a community event and organisers believe the more people who get involved and the more conversations they create, the better.
"Awareness and conversations are the main thing. The money is a bonus as far as I'm concerned," Paul said. "It's really helpful and will go to the programs Mindfull Aus runs in schools and things like that but the conversations are the main part of it."
A special raffle will be held during the day, with organisers on the hunt for potential donations to go towards prizes.
While Paul and Jack are hoping to get numbers up and about for the day, Paul acknowledged this year's later launch may have an impact on how many participate.
"We've both been a bit preoccupied with some things taking precedent unfortunately. It'd be awesome to get the same number of people as last year but the late launch may make it a bit tough."
One thing will be guaranteed, however - there'll be plenty of kids.
With around 200 members in the Warragul Little Athletics club this year, the message of mental health will be heard loud and clear among young people.
"That was the best part of last year, to be honest," Paul said.
"Seeing Jack talk to the kids and then also the parents about the importance of mental health, that's what this is all about."
Registration for Mindfull Kilometres costs $25 for adults while kids can enter for free.
