Have you say on pump track design

Community members have the opportunity to have their say on concept designs for a new pump track in Warragul and help Baw Baw Shire secure funding for the project.

A pump track is a smaller version of a BMX track and is ideal for cyclists of all ages and skill sets. A continuous track made up of rollers, jumps and berms that loop back onto itself, it allows for serious fun for BMX, mountain bikes, skateboards, scooters, roller blades or adaptive bikes.
The track is being proposed for Burke St Park, on the grassed area between the playground, skate park and linear trail.
Establishment of a pump track is a priority of council's Cycling Project Reference Group as a short-term project to improve cycling infrastructure within the shire.
Entirely dependent on external funding and grants, council said community input was vital to develop the best concept design and secure state government support.
Baw Baw Shire mayor Danny Goss said the proposed pump track would improve cycling infrastructure and offer another opportunity for people to exercise.
"We're really hoping the state government backs this initiative with some funding, as I think it's a wonderful chance to support active recreation and healthy living," Cr Goss said.
Cr Ben Lucas said he would support any possibility of improving and increasing sport and recreation in Baw Baw.
"We know that some members of our community have been calling for better cycling infrastructure in the local area for a long time, and this could be small step towards achieving that," Cr Lucas said.
For beginners, rolling around the pump track makes for a fun experience; while, for more advanced riders, it allows for some serious skills training.
